Responsible for: managing and writing management software for the distributed network of nodes, writing code to compute statistics and detect anomalies in performance data, facilitate interaction with other groups to allow them to use the network including packing software and distributing it to the machines, and work with tools such as ndt, bwctl, nagios, and perfSONAR to evaluate them and eventually include their measurements in CPR results.

("The Platforms Team builds Google's computing platform: the datacenters, servers, networking and system software that powers all of Google's services. Networking Engineers work on projects involving next generation networking systems and architecture, distributed systems, and routing.") I did a lot of neat things in Python with threading, SWIG, and unit tests. My primary project was a simulation tool designed to help with training and the development of monitoring software.
