Graduate Research Assistant for the team working on CPR: the Campus-Wide Network Performance Monitoring and Recovery system. Responsible for: managing and writing management software for the distributed network of nodes, writing code to compute statistics and detect anomalies in performance data, facilitate interaction with other groups to allow them to use the network including packing software and distributing it to the machines, and work with tools such as ndt, bwctl, nagios, and perfSONAR to evaluate them and eventually include their measurements in CPR results.

("The Platforms Team builds Google's computing platform: the datacenters, servers, networking and system software that powers all of Google's services. Networking Engineers work on projects involving next generation networking systems and architecture, distributed systems, and routing.") I did a lot of neat things in Python with threading, SWIG, and unit tests. My primary project was a simulation tool designed to help with training and the development of monitoring software.

Provided support for all aspects of IT in the GT Student Center including the Administrative Offices, the Post Office, and the Student Center Programs Board, communicating with student staff and full time professionals. Facilitated migration from Mac OS 9 to Mac OS X on new server equipment and existing desktops. Founded the School Council For Systems Integration, a group of students that served the school as community service to repair computer systems and keep things up to date. Helped to transition computers from teachers toys to integral parts of learning and worked with security experts and Atlanta Public School employees to devise methods the protect computers in classrooms and labs from malicious students. Received NAHS Most Outstanding Technology Award in 2001 for providing over 250 hours of service before skipping senior year to move on to Georgia Tech.
